CHENNAI: The US imperialists and Hindu fundamentalist forces in India are trying to disrupt the elections of Constituent Assembly in Nepal to be held in April, said Communist Party of Nepal (Maoists) central committee member C P Gajurel here on Tuesday.
Addressing a public meeting at MGR Nagar organised by Indo-Nepal People�s Solidarity Forum, Gajurel said these forces wanted the monarchy to continue since it would suit their interests whereas Maoists had been trying to bring about a revolutionary change in all spheres of life by completely overthrowing the monarchy.
He said the elections were supposed to be held in June last year but the reactionary forces had postponed them since Maoists had tremendous scope of winning the polls.
``Despite the imperialist propaganda that revolution will not happen and socialism is dead, Nepal is the first country in the 21st century which will succeed in the revolution and bring in socialism,�� he added. Stating that Maoists had only temporarily suspended the arms struggle in Nepal, he cautioned that they could revive it any time they wanted. Criticising the BJP for `supporting� monarchy in Nepal, he said.
``If you love monarchy, you bring it to New Delhi or your own party office and worship it,�� Gajurel said.
